Two nights and Two Canyons

This was a little less than 2 months ago, so it's only a little late... We went up American Fork Canyon and stayed in Granite Flats the first night. Then we searched for a camp site the next day and because we barely found one. We stayed in the Timpanogas camp ground ,which is more up Provo Canyon, the second night which is right by the entrance to hike Stewart Falls and Timp.
Our last adventure with the Austin and Kyrie before they had to be all responsible and go to Medical School
Well he certainly doesn't lack personality

Trying out our new camera

I was around 30 or 32 weeks pregnant

John and I NEED to purchase one of these! this hammock was heaven sent!

Our 2nd campsite was awesome!
We had just barely bought a nice camera from Tyler and Brooke becuase they bought an even NICER camera so we mostly I had fun playing around and taking pictures of everything!

Austin's masterpiece before we set it on fire

Wouldn't even expect....

....BAM look at that belly!

John took this picture and he was so proud!
Ben and Hillary joined us the second night. We played lots of fun games and had polish dogs and smores! We are so lucky to have such awesome friends! They even went camping with me when I was pregnant! They are so awesome! And John was really sweet to me. Making sure I was always drinking enough and taking lots of breaks while hiking. He can be a worrier sometimes but he just loves me!
hiking Stewart Falls
Everyone put me in the front while we were hiking because I was so slow. That way I could set the pace and nobody felt so bad when they left me behind because seriously....I was SOOOO slow!

So handsome....and sweaty!
This is one of my favorite pictures I took!

Seriously it was awesome! Thanks everybody for putting up with my slow pregnant self! That was my last camping trip before my baby girl comes!

Family Fun at the Beach

On a Sunday afternoon we went with Kyrsten's family to the beach right at sunset. These pictures don't do it justice! It was beautiful! I miss living near the ocean. The kids loved feeding the seagulls and me and John snapped some fun pictures of them. Too bad our camera ran out of battery so we didn't get any pictures of us and we didn't get any pictures of the sun when it was right on the horizon but oh well.

Summertime with the Salazars

Ben and Hillary are some of our very best friends and yet we have ZERO pictures of all four of us. So it took a trip to a different state to finally get one. Ben, Hillary, and John drove from Utah down to southern California and I drove from Arizona to meet them there.
At the Ventura Harbor
John grew up in Ventura so he loved every minute of showing us around and telling us about everything. In another life I think he was meant to be a tour guide!

Ben's uncovered his skill at Dance Dance Revolution, we were all surprised including Hillary!

Hillary's sad face at her lack of skill. The screen says "GAME OVER"

Hat Shop!

Surrey Ride!
We rode along the Ventura Beach Front! It was fun and fabulous. I think the boys were pedaling harder than us but they needed the workout anyways! We ate SO MUCH GOOD FOOD!

We spent a day in L.A. which was great. Except traffic is terrible. I would never wish to live there EVER! First we went to Rosco's House of Chicken and Waffles. Sounds like a weird combo but it was delicious.

Hillary trying to run away from Ben taking a picture of her in unpredictable patterns

Then we went to the L.A. temple and walked around the grounds. Every temple is so unique and beautiful in there own way!
Look a picture of ALL FOUR OF US! It took a few times of John running back and forth before we figured out the timer.

Yes Yes that is my attractive pregnant pose!

After the temple we headed off to visit the Griffith Observatory. Not only did our GPS lead us up an extremely narrow windy rode past all these nice, squished houses but it told us to take a left turn into someone's garage. Somehow I don't think they would have appreciated that. Then Ben's GPS on his phone also lead astray. But eventually we asked someone and he told us how to get there. But for all the work it was to get there the observatory wasn't all that cool.

BEACH DAY!!! You can't go to southern California without having at least one beach day.

Ben and Johnny playing catch and looking so manly!

So cute!

building a sand castle...more like a sand mound

and of course the waves washing away the castle mound

Skim Boarding

Look at my Mr. Man! So fine!

Ben cuddling with his wife buried in sand. Hillary really did fall asleep.
It was tons of fun! We were sad to see Ben and Hillary leave us in California but so much fun while it lasted!
